There is a huge amount of money to be made in the health and fitness industry. Unfortunately, there is little regulation here to protect the public.

The issue here, however, is that a surge of dangerous and ineffective fad diets have flooded the market.

Thus, here are some fad diets you need to know more about:

1. Low carb plans: Taking out carbs will put the nail in your weight loss coffin. You see, you need carbs to exercise with intensity. And if you aren’t training with a high level of intensity it will be impossible to create the optimal fat burning environment within your body.

2. Extremely high carbohydrate plans: These do work for some people, but not for everybody. You see, if you are highly sensitive to insulin, you can tolerate high carbohydrate intakes with little ill effect. Most people, however, should not be front loading their carbohydrate intakes.

3. Extremely low fat plans: Bringing down your fat intake to ten percent of total caloric intake is a sure fire way to destroy your health. Fat plays so many important roles in your body that an entire book could be written on the subject. Most relevant, however, is that dietary fat is used to produce fat burning hormones.

4. Integrated plans: By leaps and bounds, plans that integrate all the macronutrients in balance are the best for helping you lose weight. You see, consistent research from the top universities in the world has shown that combinations of nutrients are more healthy than single doses of nutrients.

5. Non solid food fads: Most of these diets have you drinking endless amounts of protein shakes and other liquid concoctions to lose weight. The main problem here is that your body is not made to absorb liquid sources of calories. You are optimized for the digestion and absorption of solid food.

Of all the aforementioned diets you are better served using a balanced diet. And if you are insulin resistant, you may want to reduce your carb intake, but don’t eliminate it. And remember that taking action is by far the most important ingredient for weight loss success!
